Our technical team collaborates with client engineering departments from the early conceptual and prototyping stages. As an experienced custom forging manufacturer, we leverage Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to analyze structural drawings, material grades, and stress requirements. This optimizes part geometry, grain alignment, and forgeability—reducing material waste and shortening downstream processing cycles across the entire forging manufacturing workflow.

Strict Quality Control
Quality verification is embedded at every manufacturing milestone. Our physical and chemical testing laboratory performs complete material and dimensional evaluations across raw material billets, rough-machined parts, and finished components:
- Chemical Analysis: Optical emission spectrometers (OES) verify precise steel heat chemistry prior to processing.
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle inspection (MT) confirm internal soundness and surface integrity.
- Mechanical Property Testing: Tensile testing, low-temperature impact testing, hardness verification, and microstructural grain analysis.
- Dimensional & Traceability Control: Inspection reports and complete Heat-Batch Material Test Reports (MTR) are provided for total lifecycle traceability.
Common Processable Materials
FWD Forgings provides comprehensive open die forging and closed die forging across a wide spectrum of carbon steels, alloy steels, stainless steels, and special heat-treatable metals conforming to global standards (SAE, EN, ASTM, JIS, BS).
Every incoming raw billet undergoes chemical composition verification and controlled heat treatment to ensure optimal tensile strength, impact toughness, and precise machinability for heavy industrial applications.
